About Dr. Jennifer Taub, Ph.D.
Dr. Taub is a licensed Clinical Psychologist and Health Services Provider specializing in children and families, with 20 years of clinical and program evaluation experience in schools, health care, and community non-profit organizations. Dr. Taub received her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Vermont, where she gained a solid grounding in family therapy, interpersonal and psychodyamic approaches, as well as in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) Dr. Taub trained with Dr. Harold Leitenberg, who was the mentor of Dr. David Barlow, Founder and Director Emeritus of the Center for Anxiety and Related Disorders (CARD) at Boston University.
Dr. Taub moved to Boston in 2000 to complete her postdoctoral fellowship training in Child, Adolescent and Family Psychology at Children’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School, under the supervision of Dr. Eugene D’Angelo, Chief of Psychology at Boston Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Taub has a background in academic research at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, and she has taught graduate students in Counseling and School Psychology at the University of Massachusetts – Boston. She has published in academic textbooks and peer reviewed journals in the areas of school violence prevention, parent empowerment, youth resilience, and bisexuality.
Dr. Taub’s clinical work specializes in individuals, children, youth, families and couples. She is trained in evidence-based treatments for Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, Trauma, Executive Functioning, Relationship Issues, and family conflict. She has completed training in evidence based treatments at CARD. Additionally, Dr. Taub has been trained in Interpersonal, CBT (Cognitive Behavioral) and Psychodynamic approaches, and will tailor her work to reflect the evidence base and client needs.
Dr. Taub is an EMDR International Association Certified Therapist, having completed advanced training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, an extensively researched, effective psychotherapy method proven to help people recover from trauma and other distressing life experiences, including PTSD, anxiety, depression, and panic disorders. Dr. Taub has also completed certification training in Imago Relationship Therapy, a structured approach for couples that focuses on communication skills, active listening and empathy. Couples focus on identifying their shared relationship vision, re-romanticize their relationship, and learn to connect in ways that bring them closer.
Dr. Taub is experienced in working with queer and LGB identified individuals, trans folks and non binary clients in individual therapy, and in her work with couples. She also has experience in working with poly identified clients.
